Equestrian Venues in Surrey
Surrey is one of England's most active equestrian counties. The North Downs AONB provides miles of bridleway riding across chalk downland and beech woodland, while Epsom Downs, Box Hill and the Surrey Hills offer terrain that is hard to match within commuting distance of London. Venues range from flagship cross-country and dressage facilities to quiet livery yards with direct bridleway access. The county's affluent rider base and year-round demand support a competitive market, livery rates reflect the premium, but so does venue quality. BHS-approved riding schools are well-distributed from Guildford and Dorking north to Reigate and the M25 corridor. The Surrey Hills AONB is protected and largely undeveloped, keeping the riding landscape intact despite the county's proximity to Greater London.
