1. About Saddl

Equine Discovery Ltd (trading as Saddl), company number 17109375, registered address 5 Churchfield, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, AL5 1LJ, registered in England and Wales, operates the website at saddl.co.uk (the “Site”).

Saddl is a UK equestrian venue discovery platform. It provides a searchable, filterable directory of equestrian venues — riding schools, trekking centres, polo clubs, arena hire, livery yards, beach riding, side saddle and heavy horse specialists, and experience providers — to help riders find facilities across the United Kingdom. Saddl also operates a suppliers directory and is developing an Experiences section.

Saddl is not a booking platform. It does not arrange, facilitate or take payment for bookings between users and venues, and no money moves through the platform. Any arrangement made between a user and a venue is made directly between those parties, and Saddl is not a party to it.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you should not use the Site.

These terms apply to all visitors, users and venue owners who access the Site (“Site Users”). Venue owners who claim a listing are also subject to the additional provisions in section 7.

3. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with all applicable local, national and international laws and regulations. You must not:

• Use the Site in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its related systems or networks.
• Transmit unsolicited commercial communications.
• Systematically extract data from the Site by automated means (scraping) without our prior written consent.
• Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information through any part of the Site.
• Use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, overburden or impair it, or interfere with other users' use of the Site.

4. Venue listings and accuracy

Venue listings on the Site are compiled from publicly available sources — including the BHS affiliated establishment directory, Google Maps, British Dressage club listings and individual venue websites — and from information provided directly by venue owners. Saddl does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness or currency of listing information.

Saddl makes no warranty that listing information — including contact details, opening hours, facilities, pricing, accreditation status or any other detail — is accurate, complete or up to date.

Site Users should verify all material information directly with the venue before making any arrangements, bookings or payments. Saddl is not responsible for any loss or inconvenience arising from reliance on inaccurate or outdated listing information.

5. Equestrian activities and risk

Equestrian activities carry inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury or death. Nothing on the Site should be relied upon as advice about the safety, suitability or quality of any venue or activity. Site Users participate in equestrian activities at their own risk and should satisfy themselves as to the safety, insurance, qualifications and accreditation of any venue before participating.

Saddl strongly recommends that Site Users check whether a venue holds appropriate public liability insurance and relevant accreditation (such as BHS or ABRS approval) before making any booking or arrangement.

6. Links to third-party websites and suppliers

The Site contains links to venue websites, third-party suppliers and other external websites. These links are provided for convenience only. Saddl has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, accuracy or availability of any linked site. A link does not constitute an endorsement of the linked site, its operator, or any products or services it offers.

Saddl operates a dedicated suppliers directory. Where the Site links to suppliers, some of those links may be affiliate links from which Saddl may earn a commission if a Site User makes a purchase. Affiliate relationships are disclosed where they exist.

7. Venue owners and claimed listings

7.1 Claiming a listing

Venue owners may claim their listing through the Site's claim flow. By claiming a listing, you confirm that you are the owner or manager of the venue, or are otherwise authorised to act on its behalf, and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Venue owners are responsible for keeping their listing information accurate and up to date. Saddl reserves the right to remove or suspend a claimed listing at its discretion, including where information is found to be misleading, inaccurate or in breach of these terms, or where a claim is disputed.

7.2 Intellectual property licence for uploaded content

By uploading photographs or other content to your claimed listing, you confirm that you own or have the right to use that content and that it does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

All trade marks, product names, logos and other content linked to intellectual property rights displayed on the Site (including, but not limited to, Saddl's own intellectual property) are the property of their respective owners and may not be copied, imitated, or used, in whole or in part, without the permission of the applicable holder of such intellectual property.

By uploading content and using the Site, you grant Equine Discovery Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and reproduce that content on the Site and in connection with the promotion of the Site and your listing.

7.4 Paid listing tiers

Saddl may in the future introduce paid listing tiers offering enhanced visibility and additional features for venue owners. Where paid tiers are introduced, separate commercial terms will apply and will be presented to venue owners at the point of purchase. These Terms of Use will continue to apply alongside any such additional terms.

8. Intellectual property

The Site and its content — including the Saddl name, logo, design, text and software — are owned by or licensed to Equine Discovery Ltd. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from any part of the Site without our prior written consent, except as permitted by law (including for the purpose of fair dealing for research or private study).

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by negligence;
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
• Any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable law.

Any transactions initiated through the Site are authorised by third party providers, and by using the Site you agree that you are governed by the terms of service and privacy policies for the applicable extensions.

Saddl administers the Site on an ‘as is’ basis and specifically disclaims all warranties, terms, representations, and conditions whether expressed, implied, or statutory, and including any warranties, terms, representations and conditions of care and skill, time of performance for services, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or noninfringement.

Other than to the extent prohibited by applicable law, in no event shall Saddl's liability with respect to any single incident arising out of or related to these Terms exceed the lower of one hundred British pound sterling (£100) and any amount transacted through a link accessed through the Site. The above limitations will apply whether an action is in contract or tort and regardless of the theory of liability.

Insofar as is permitted by law, Saddl, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate Site Users or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of using the Site except where it is caused by the negligence of Saddl, its agents or distributors or that of their employees.

Saddl makes no representations and gives no warranties about any bookings, venues or yards, its value, its condition or any other information provided on the Site. Saddl makes no representations and gives no warranties that the information provided on the Site is accurate, complete or up to date.

10. Changes to these terms

Saddl may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements or operational practices. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify Site Users. Continued use of the Site after updated terms are posted constitutes acceptance of those updated terms.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
