About this yard
Equus Equestrian Centre (also known as Epsom Riding School) is based in Horton Country Park in Epsom, Surrey. It is home to one of Europe's largest indoor arenas, giving year-round all-weather lessons. Disciplines include dressage, jumping, polo introduction, and relaxed country park hacks. Over 20 horses on site, plus a café and tack shop. Founded in 1989 by David Anderson, an accomplished polo player, on land first recorded in the Domesday Book, the centre is now run by his four sons. It has 60 stables and offers full polo alongside its riding programme.

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
