About this yard
Little Brook Equestrian has operated on the Surrey/Sussex border near Lingfield since the 1950s, producing national and international riders and horses over the decades. It is run by Sally O'Neill BHSI, an RDA Instructor, County Instructor for West Sussex and Chairman of Showjumping for RDA National. The centre offers individual, group, jumping and cross-country coaching for riders from age 4, Stable Management classes and Pony Days for children, a resident Pony Club, and Riding for the Disabled sessions.
Set across 20 acres, facilities include 24 stables with integral alarm and fire safety systems and 24-hour supervision, a 40m x 20m indoor arena with sand and rubber surface, a five-horse walker, and an all-weather turnout area. Full, part and working livery are available, including breaking and schooling livery.

What to wear

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
