Horse Riding in Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire rides as a green buffer between London and the open country beyond. The hacking itself is pleasant rather than dramatic, on rolling arable country and through pockets of ancient woodland, with the Chilterns within reach to the west for something with more height. Prices sit in the southern bracket without quite reaching London levels. For beginners there's a solid choice of accredited schools, and the flat-to-rolling terrain makes it a gentle place to start. More experienced riders use Hertfordshire as a base and travel for competition. The appeal is steadiness: well-run yards, good access, and countryside that holds up surprisingly well so close to the capital.
