About this yard

Coltspring has been teaching riders in the Rickmansworth area for over 20 years, earning a reputation as one of Hertfordshire's more consistently well-run schools. The standout feature is having two indoor arenas, the main school lit and equipped with a full set of jumps and a spectator seating area, and a smaller arena available at all times when the main school is in use. Lessons cover all abilities, with pony parties for younger riders. Good hacking into the surrounding woods and local lanes adds an outdoor dimension that purely arena-based schools cannot offer.

Footwear

Boots with a small heel, riding boots, walking boots or wellies all work. Trainers and flat-soled shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Clothing

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.
