About this yard
Masham Riding Centre is a small Yorkshire Dales riding centre offering lessons in their outdoor arena alongside trekking. Many horses and ponies in residence ranging from Shetlands to Shires, plus the Dykes Hill Pony Stud (a prize-winning pony breeding line of 30+ years) is based at the centre. Located on the Swinton Estate, opposite Swinton Park Hotel, one mile outside Masham. ABRS approved, with 18 horses and ponies mostly pure-bred Highlands alongside Welsh mountain ponies and a Shire. Riding lessons and pony trekking are offered for all ages and abilities, with disabled riders welcome and group bookings catered for. Open 7 days a week, 9am-5pm.

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
