About this yard

Farsyde Riding Centre sits on a working farm at Fylingthorpe, a mile from Robin Hood's Bay on the North Yorkshire coast. The setting is exceptional: clifftop fields, direct access to the former Scarborough–Whitby railway line (now the traffic-free Cinder Track), moorland bridleways and, for experienced riders, beach access at Robin Hood's Bay itself, where the Cleveland Way meets the shore.

Rides run from 1 to 3 hours depending on ability and preference. Novice riders enjoy the old rail path and quiet lanes at a relaxed walk and trot pace, with optional stream crossings. More experienced riders can venture further across moorland and along the clifftops, with beach riding available when conditions allow. All sessions are supervised by qualified staff and riding equipment is loaned free of charge.

Children are welcome from age 6. Self-catering holiday cottages are available at Farsyde for riders who want to base themselves here for a few days, an ideal option for exploring this stretch of North Yorkshire on horseback.
