Newton Equestrian Centre
About this yard
Newton Equestrian and Leisure Centre is a BHS approved riding holiday centre at Polhorman Lane, Mullion on the Lizard Peninsula in west Cornwall. The yard combines a riding school, beach rides and trekking with on-site self-catering cottages, set up for week-long riding holidays as much as for individual lessons. Riders are taken from novice through to advanced, with horses matched to ability and the centre's coastal location used to advantage on guided sea-view rides. Self-catering cottage guests have exclusive access to an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, sauna, sports hall and games rooms. Named beach rides include the Polurrian Cove ride through Mullion village onto the beach, the Kynance ride skirting Predannack Airfield towards Kynance Cove, and a ride across the National Trust Penrose Estate down to Loe Bar. Riders are assessed in the school before being taken out, and cantering on the beach is available for those who are competent.
