Great Trethew Trekking is an ABRS+ approved riding establishment in Liskeard, Cornwall. The centre offers a programme centred on children and young riders, hacking in the surrounding countryside, trekking. ABRS+ approval means the centre has been independently assessed by the Association of British Riding Schools for its standards of horse care, instruction and safety. Set on 30 acres of woodland and gardens, the centre also offers horse therapy sessions and supports Home Education groups during the week. Ofsted registered and an Approved Education Alternative Provision Centre through Cornwall Council. Maximum rider weight 14 stone.

What to wear

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
