About this yard
Barnwell Equestrian Centre is a friendly, family-run riding centre in Cubert near Newquay, fully licensed and insured, BHS approved and an ABRS+ centre. Lessons take place in a spacious 25m x 60m indoor riding arena, with group, private and semi-private formats tailored to individual riders' needs and goals, plus scenic hacks and treks through Cornish countryside and along the coast. Equine-assisted therapy sessions are also offered.
A distinctive offer is the Special Occasion Trek, a bespoke, private horseback experience for birthdays, anniversaries, proposals or milestones, with options to add a picnic, photos or celebratory touches. The centre also runs pony experiences for younger children, holiday activities and horse care/stable management sessions, plus an annual residential summer camp with showjumping, in-hand showing and gymkhana games.

What to wear

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
