About this yard
Woodside Riding School is a well-established riding school, livery yard and horse-riding service on the edge of Bestwood Country Park in Arnold, Nottingham. A team of experienced staff cater for riders of all ages and abilities across group, private and semi-private lessons, structured into Beginner, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced development programmes, with a full livery service for owners.
Two all-weather floodlit schools mean tuition continues year round regardless of weather, alongside off-road hacking and trekking through Bestwood Country Park's woodland. Birthday parties are popular, with a half-hour ride in the school followed by a half-hour woodland hack the most requested option, plus a heated cabin available to hire for food and party games. "Own a Pony Days" run during school holidays, 10am-4pm.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
