About this yard
Rein & Shine Equestrian Centre is a BHS approved riding school catering for all ages and abilities on a string of well-schooled horses. Group, shared and private lessons run alongside hacking, jumping and dressage tuition, with adult and children's riding clubs and a competition calendar of education and fun events. Riders are weighed before the first lesson and every six months; the maximum rider weight is 12 stone 7lbs (79.37kg) including hat and boots, set for horse welfare and rider safety. Rein & Shine carries the official RDA Accessibility Mark accreditation and is a Highly Commended BHS centre, providing equine-assisted learning and therapy suited to young people building self-esteem, communication skills and confidence.

What to wear

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
