About this yard
Pony Trekking Thetford Forest (Breck Treks) is a small, family-run ABRS+ approved operation offering led pony treks through Thetford Forest. No experience is necessary, ponies are led throughout by staff, with 1:1 support, and spectators are welcome to walk alongside. Suitable from age 2 up to a weight limit of 10 stone.
Short drop-in forest rides for younger children (ages 3-10, up to 6 stone) run from the pink trailer at High Lodge Forest Centre at weekends, bank holidays and school holidays from Easter to October half term. Longer treks, pony care sessions, introductory lessons and bespoke pony parties are booked in advance at the Santon Downham base. Riding hats are provided and a limited range of boots is available to borrow. The centre holds a 5-star local authority licence, with all staff DBS checked and holding first aid and safeguarding certificates.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
