About this yard

Valley Farm Equestrian Leisure is a large award-winning BHS and ABRS approved equestrian centre on an 82-acre farm near Wickham Market, Woodbridge where learning and leisure work together. Huge variety of disciplines in one place: western, vaulting, carriage driving, sidesaddle, horseball, horse agility, Working Equitation, RDA and more. Residential riding holidays, camping, lodges and a small campsite on site. Indoor and outdoor arenas with multiple riding areas, dressage and racing simulators, horse weighbridge and viewing gallery. Off-road hacking around the 82-acre farm. Tiny tots sessions and holiday camps. Pony Club centre. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere suiting both casual leisure riders and those training for Pony Club or BHS assessments.

What to wear

Riding helmet

A correctly fitted hat to current safety standards (PAS 015 or VG1). Bicycle helmets are not permitted. Hats are available to hire, usually reserved for first-time riders.

Footwear

Boots with a small heel, riding boots, walking boots or wellies all work. Trainers and flat-soled shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Clothing

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.

Hair & jewellery

Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.

Clients arriving in unsuitable clothing or footwear may not be permitted to ride, for their own safety. If in doubt, contact the yard before your visit.
