About this yard
Fairfields Stables is an ABRS+ Certified Livery Yard opened in 2002 on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire border between Ledbury and Newent, 10 minutes from Hartpury College. Set in 76 acres of free-draining sandy soil with views to the Malvern Hills, it offers DIY, part and full livery across 40 stables in eight blocks and 65 paddocks, each with its own water trough. An ideal competition base, home to established eventing and dressage yards, with two competition-standard arenas, a 200m canter track, a lunge pen, solarium and wash box. Tuition is available on site.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
