About this yard
Cheshire Polo Club is based at Tarporley, with five well-maintained grounds and a playing membership of more than 90. Chukkas run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the season. All players hold the appropriate level of HPA membership for the type of play they take part in, with full HPA membership required for tournament play. Visitors are welcome to attend matches free of charge, with refreshments served from the clubhouse.

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
