About this yard
Berriewood Farm is a family-run yard on the edge of the Shropshire Hills at Condover, seven miles south of Shrewsbury, on land the Lock family has farmed for over 100 years. The current focus is livery and equestrian facilities for hire by individuals, clubs and organisations, hosting the annual Berriewood Farm British Eventing horse trials, dressage and show jumping competitions, clinics and camps, alongside dog training and weddings.
Facilities include a 20m x 44m indoor arena, a 20m x 60m outdoor sand arena, a grass arena, an outstanding cross-country course with a separate beginner-friendly mini course, and a disused airfield used for hacking and warm-up/cool-down. The Rea Valley RDA group meets regularly at Berriewood, with an RDA cabin providing toilets, showers and changing facilities.

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
