About this yard
The Bennington Carriage Driving Academy is a dedicated, purpose-built facility set in ten acres of Lincolnshire countryside. UKCC Level 3 coach Sue Mart offers one-to-one tuition from complete beginners through to advanced and competition-level drivers. Taster experiences, individual lessons and a series of sessions are all available. The Academy is also home to a carriage showroom with an extensive range of carriages and accessories on display. Sue is a world championship carriage driver, and Bennington Carriages holds a Royal Warrant for supplying carriages to the Royal Family. The two-hour Try Driving experience costs £145, including an overview of carriage driving and the chance to take the reins.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
