About this yard

Bagnum Equestrian Centre is a family-run riding centre on Bagnum Lane near Ringwood, sitting on the edge of the New Forest National Park. The centre offers a range of riding experiences, guided hacks onto forest terrain, arena lessons, and walkout rides for younger or more nervous riders, and caters for everyone from complete beginners to confident cantering riders.

Hacks take riders out through New Forest heathland and woodland: walk, trot and, for those who are ready, open canter on the tracks and open ground. Sessions run from 1 to 2 hours depending on ability. Children can join hacks from age 7; adults of all abilities are welcome. Walkouts are a lighter alternative, riders are led by rein around the 36-acre grounds including fields and forest tracks, and are well-suited to first-timers, younger children from age 4, and those wanting a relaxed, confidence-building introduction to riding.

Arena lessons and private one-to-one instruction are available for riders wanting structured coaching. The outdoor arena measures 20x50m, with a separate jumping paddock for more experienced riders. The centre holds regular competitions and runs holiday Pony Club camps for children during school breaks.

Weekends and school holidays book up quickly, advance booking is strongly recommended. The maximum weight for riders is 16 stone.
