About this yard
Arrow Riding Centre for the Disabled was founded in 1982 by the Dartford Lions Club, based in Darenth Park, Dartford. Entirely self-funded, needing roughly £140,000 a year to operate, it provides therapeutic riding for ages 18 months to 84, all abilities, with the opportunity to compete at national and para-potential level. The GB Para Dressage team trains here. Facilities include indoor and outdoor arenas, woodland walks and over 100 acres of private hacking, 14 horses and ponies plus a mechanical dressage simulator, two hireable conference rooms, and wheelchair-accessible facilities including a lift and adapted changing and shower rooms.
The centre employs 4 full-time qualified RDA coaches plus 3 voluntary coaches, over 50 volunteers, and has an on-site paediatric physiotherapist providing hippotherapy.
This venue takes bookings by phone.

Boots with a small heel, riding boots, walking boots or wellies all work. Trainers and flat-soled shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.
Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.
