A short riding camp at Norsk Fjordhestgard, a centre near Byrkjelo and Sandane in the Nordfjord region of Western Norway dedicated to the Norwegian Fjord horse, the country's national breed. Established in 1988 and set in a converted traditional barn, it offers riding lessons and mountain trail rides for beginners and experienced riders alike, on the sturdy, good-natured dun Fjord horses, amid classic fjord-and-mountain scenery.
The centre welcomes both beginners and experienced riders, with lessons and guided trail rides matched to your ability. The Fjord horse is sturdy, steady and good-natured, which makes it ideal for those new to riding as well as for mountain trails.
