About this yard

Wirral Riding Centre is a BHS-approved riding school in Neston, established for over 40 years with 30+ horses and ponies for all abilities. The centre is the only official Pony Club centre on the Wirral, holds the Special Olympics regional centre status, and runs an Alternative Provision programme (CLtH hub). Also offers apprenticeships, BHS training, horseball, and sensory sessions.

Current prices: Child lead rein group £11 (Tue–Fri) / £15 (weekend); Child beginner group £13.50/£15; Child 1hr group £22/£26; Adult 1hr group £25 weekday; Child private £29/£30; Adult private £32/£34; Semi-private from £24 per rider. BHS Stage 1 Course £40/session or £300 for 8-week course. Hat hire £1. 24-hour cancellation policy (£10 fee if less notice given). Open Tuesday–Sunday.

Riding helmet

Boots with a small heel, riding boots, walking boots or wellies all work. Trainers and flat-soled shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Clothing

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.

Hair & jewellery

Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.
