About this yard
Wardhaugh Farm Riding Centre is based at Inverkeithny near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, on the banks of the River Deveron, and is the only indoor riding school in the area. Lessons run for all abilities, from complete beginners through to experienced riders, alongside pony trekking, BHS stage training, cross-country riding and birthday parties. It is also a Pony Club centre, running badge days.
The site covers 82 acres of all-year-round turnout, some of it providing the farm's own hay. Facilities include a covered 40m x 20m arena, an outdoor arena, showjumps, great hacking through woods and tracks, and a tack shop on site. Livery is offered across full, part, working, DIY, assisted DIY, holiday, grass, schooling and retirement options, with a maximum of 10 horses at livery, 24/7 supervision and daily poo-picked fields.

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
