About this yard
vO Polo Club is a private members' social and players' polo club on Ashley Road, Middleton, near Market Harborough, run by James van Oppen alongside the family's van Oppen Equine livery yard. Set in the Welland Valley, the club is built around a colonial safari-themed clubhouse, The Safari Bar, with a viewing gallery looking west over unspoilt countryside and glorious sunsets.
Tournaments and events run throughout the summer, alongside chukkas, and the club welcomes brand partners and sponsors for the season. The Safari Bar itself opens as a pop-up restaurant and bar on Wednesday and Friday evenings from May to September, with polo to watch most evenings and dinner bookings essential.
