Sweetlands Farm at The Haven, Billingshurst is a family-run equestrian and animal learning centre in rural West Sussex, run by BHSAI-qualified instructor Victoria Davis. It holds 5-star Higher Standards licensing, ABRS+ approval and AQA approved centre status, and is registered on the Human-Equine Interaction Register (HEIR) as an Equine Assisted Services provider.
The focus is children and young people, with structured after-school and Saturday group riding lessons for all abilities from complete beginner upwards, plus tiny tots pony time and lead rein sessions during weekdays. Riders work through ABRS Ridden Awards, gaining progress awards, certificates and rosettes in riding and horse care, and there is a Pony Club route to mini badges and efficiency tests without owning a pony. Nervous or less confident riders are supported at their own pace.
Beyond riding, the farm offers Animal & Farm Learning and equine assisted services, with daytime sessions combining ridden or non-ridden activities, pony care, groundwork, animal handling and confidence building. Hacking, pony days and pub rides are also available.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
