About this yard

Seacliff Stables is a family-run riding centre two miles from North Berwick in East Lothian, set on private land with coastal access to one of Scotland's most dramatic stretches of coastline. Rides take in views of Tantallon Castle, the Bass Rock, a world-famous gannet colony, and Seacliff Beach. All riding is on private land with minimal road crossings.

The stables offer a range of session lengths, with half-hour rides available for children from age four. All rides are tailored to ability. The horses are largely home-bred, with trustworthy schoolmasters for beginners and nervous riders alongside experienced competition horses for more capable riders. Beach access is reserved for intermediate and above riders only.

Carriage driving experiences are also available, making Seacliff one of very few venues in Scotland offering both riding and driving as part of the same visit. Pony days for children are available throughout the year. Access from Edinburgh is straightforward, train to North Berwick from Edinburgh Waverley then a pre-booked taxi for the final three miles. The stables are ABRS approved.
