About this yard

Rudyard Equestrian Centre is a family-run ABRS+ approved centre on Rudyard Lane near Leek, Staffordshire, established as a dressage yard in 2007 and running as a riding centre open to all levels since 2022, with or without your own horse. Lead coach Annastasia has ridden in teams up to and including representing Britain, and coaches alongside Georgiana from beginner through to advanced.

The focus is a calm, nurturing environment for children and young adults, with individual and group lessons from age 2 upwards and a weight limit of 10 stone. The most popular option is a full two-hour pony experience combining riding with stable management and pony care. Dressage and flatwork lessons on your own horse run through the week. Pony parties and equine assisted therapy are also offered.

Facilities include a large floodlit outdoor arena, a dressage arena and jumping arena, grass farm tracks for riding out, a tack room and grooming area, plus a clubhouse shop stocking equestrian gear and an on-site ice cream shop popular with weekend visitors. Parents are welcome to stay and watch. Lead coach Annastasia has ridden for Britain at team level, and both she and fellow coach Georgiana teach beginner through advanced riders. Parents consistently highlight the yard's work with children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD and anxiety, describing a small, calm, professional environment.

What to wear

Riding helmet

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.

Footwear

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.

Hair & jewellery
