Rodbaston Equestrian Centre is part of South Staffordshire College, set within a 180-hectare estate near Penkridge. It is BHS approved and nationally recognised as a major facility for equestrian events, training and competition, rather than a standard walk-in lesson school.
Facilities include a 60m x 30m indoor arena, a 60m x 20m covered outdoor arena and a 40m x 20m uncovered outdoor arena, plus a cross-country schooling course from 70cm suited to all abilities, a show centre with timing and PA equipment, The Hayrack café, extensive lorry parking and a tiered viewing gallery. Facilities are available for hire by the public and clubs, and DIY livery barns are on site.
The centre regularly hosts affiliated and unaffiliated dressage and show jumping competitions, clinics and demonstrations. Training and courses (BHS Stage 1 and 2 exams, Horse Owners Certificate, Riding and Road Safety) are run alongside South Staffordshire College's equine qualifications, with instruction geared towards students and course participants. Rodbaston is also the headquarters of Stafford and District Riding for the Disabled, running RDA riding sessions on site for teenagers and adults as part of a partnership with South Staffordshire College.

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
