About this yard
Poppet Ponies is a small, family-run ABRS+ approved children's riding establishment at Mill Lane, Chalgrove in South Oxfordshire, with an onsite Level 2 coach. Rather than a conventional riding school, the focus is on young children's first experiences with ponies: birthday parties, tots taster rides, introductory pony experiences, and educational pony mornings covering what keeps a pony happy. Affordable children's riding lessons are also offered, though spaces are limited. ABRS training and awards are available.

What to wear

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
