About this yard
Pathhead Equestrian Centre is based on the Forfar Road near Kirriemuir in Angus. It offers riding lessons and equestrian activities in the beautiful Angus Glens countryside. Established in 1996 by Joyce Bruce and run today by her husband Ally on the family farm. Facilities include a purpose-built indoor arena, outdoor arena, and tracks around the farm for trekking, with further hacking onto Kirrie Hill and old drove roads. Pathhead is the only active Pony Club Centre in Dundee & Angus, with membership open from age 5.

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
