About this yard

Park Lane Stables RDA is an award-winning Riding for the Disabled Association centre and Pony Club centre based in Teddington, south-west London. The stables date to around 1830, originally built as a horse-drawn fire station. Today the charity runs assisted riding, carriage driving, hippotherapy and stable yard activities for hundreds of children and adults with physical, sensory and learning disabilities, plus those with mental health issues and disadvantaged backgrounds. After facing closure in 2021, the building was saved through a community crowdfunding effort that raised over £1 million, and it returned to the original Park Lane site after renovation in summer 2024. HRH Princess Anne re-opened the stables in 2016 in her capacity as RDA president. Listed as an Asset of Community Value by Richmond upon Thames.
