About this yard
Littlemoor is the Carmarthenshire equine site of Gul Outdoor Therapy, a registered charity, founded in 2009 by Sam Howells and named after her first pony. Run today by Sam with support from Hannah Gale and a team of volunteers, it now offers riding and equine-assisted activities to over 40 young people, delivered in partnership with the local council and schools. Littlemoor was set up specifically to provide affordable riding and therapeutic support to the people of Carmarthenshire, and partners with Gul's nearby Penlan site for complementary outdoor activities such as camping and heritage crafts.

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
