Islandmagee Riding Centre is a BHS-approved equestrian centre in rural Islandmagee in County Antrim, family-run since 1998. It offers private and group lessons from beginner to BHS Assessment standard, birthday parties, Own a Pony Week, and horse care courses. In the heart of rural Islandmagee, near the coast at Browns Bay Road. Its BHS training programme has consistently achieved excellent pass rates, and horse care courses and certificates are also offered for those interested in equines without necessarily riding.

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
