Hunters Lodge Riding School is an ABRS+ approved riding establishment in Chichester, West Sussex. The centre offers lessons for riders of all levels, hacking in the surrounding countryside, sessions for riders with additional needs. ABRS+ approval means the centre has been independently assessed by the Association of British Riding Schools for its standards of horse care, instruction and safety. Stables over 25 horses and ponies, with indoor and outdoor riding schools meaning lessons are never cancelled for bad weather. The team has extensive experience working with disabled children, young people and adults, and is associated with an RDA group. New riders complete a riding assessment before their first lesson. Level access into the centre, with a mounting block to assist riders. Associated with a local RDA group and experienced working with SEN students. Half-hour group lesson £20, one-hour group lesson £30, one-hour hack £30.

15-min pony ride £6-£10. Semi-private lesson (30 min) £18-£25. Group lesson (30 min) £20, (1 hour) £30. Private lesson (45 min-1 hour) £30-£60. Guided hack (1 hour) £20-£30. New clients require a £10 riding assessment first.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
