About this yard
Hopton Horse Centre is a family-run DIY livery yard in Mirfield, operating for nearly 40 years with exceptional on-site facilities for horse owners. All facilities are included in the weekly livery rate. The yard offers an indoor arena, outdoor showjumping arena and cross-country field, all available for hire.
Arena hire: £20 per horse per hour, or £15 per horse when sharing. Jumping arena and cross-country field hire available by appointment, message with day, time and number of horses. Open seven days a week. Note: Hopton is primarily a DIY livery facility, it does not operate a public riding school programme.

What to wear

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
