About this yard
Holly Equestrian Centre is a family-run, BHS and ABRS+ approved riding school in Hurley Common, near Atherstone, Warwickshire, established in 1976 and run by Nicky Pritchard since 1998, who competes with British Show Jumping and British Dressage. Now teaching its third generation of local families, it offers group, individual and jumping lessons for riders from age 4, excellent hacking, Pony Days and pony parties.
Facilities include a 40m x 20m indoor school, an outdoor ménage, trekking tracks and a cross-country course.

What to wear

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
