Highland Trekking and Trail Riding at Cougie sits in remote Inverness-shire, in the Glen Affric area west of Loch Ness. Fully approved, insured and open all year. Run by Sasha and Iain. One-, two- and three-hour rides plus half-day and full-day treks. 30-minute lead rides for under-12s. Long-distance trekking by arrangement for serious riders. The location is the standout: this is the part of the Highlands most visitors don't reach, low-level woodland walks with crossbills, goldcrests, crested tits, butterflies and dragonflies, plus higher routes for experienced riders. A large woodland garden with seats and picnic tables for non-riding companions.
