Gartmore Riding School, in Hammerwich near Burntwood, Staffordshire, has more than 30 years' experience providing riding, lessons and stable training for everyone regardless of ability or age, described locally as Staffordshire's best all-access riding school. The centre is BHS approved and ABRS+ accredited, with an inclusive approach welcoming riders with physical or learning disabilities, and hosts sessions for the Staffordshire "Aiming High" SEND programme for ages 5-18. Riding hats and boots are provided free of charge. The school has also expanded into themed and sensory courses, social coffee mornings, and an outdoor pathway learning trail.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
