Forest Farm Riding School at Mannings Heath offers affordable lessons for children and adults with a down-to-earth approach. BHS approved with exam-focused coaching and stable management training. Outdoor arena with full jump course, local woodland and bridleway access, pony camp area, snack hut and tack shop. Wide range of clinics, pony days and group activities. Great value and highly rated by parents and adult learners. Family-owned and constantly improved over the past 40 years. Two fenced outdoor schools plus a separate grass jumping paddock, with excellent hacking on bridlepaths through St Leonard's Forest.

What to wear

Riding helmet

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.

Footwear

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.

Clothing

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.

Hair & jewellery

Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
