Errislannan Manor is a quintessential 18th-century Connemara estate near Clifden, specialising in breeding and training the world-famous Connemara pony. Visitors can ride out across the estate and surrounding Connemara landscape on the home-bred ponies, and learn about the history of the breed in its native landscape.
A heritage destination for anyone interested in the Connemara pony as a breed, with strong appeal to international riders making a pilgrimage to the breed's home territory. The manor is home to Mrs Stephanie Brooks, who breeds ponies here and hosts the Connemara branch of the Irish Pony Club, with rallies run on Saturdays in season. Riding is on quiet, bitless Connemara ponies, with pony trekking sessions on weekday mornings and popular residential holidays where children are assigned their own pony for a week (though no on-site accommodation is offered otherwise). Set on a private 220-acre peninsula with views of the Twelve Bens and the Atlantic, the manor's gardens are open to the public daily. Residential pony camps are capped at 6 children per week, each with their own pony, with accommodation arranged with local families rather than on-site.

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.
Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.
Clients arriving in unsuitable clothing or footwear may not be permitted to ride, for their own safety. If in doubt, contact the yard before your visit.
