Bigland Hall Equestrian is a BHS-approved riding centre at Haverthwaite near Ulverston, set in stunning scenery close to Lake Windermere in the Lake District. It offers hacking, trekking, livery, and riding instruction at all levels, with qualified instructors in showjumping, trail riding, and classical dressage. Competitions, clinics, Pony Club, Tiny Tots Club, and a Young Equestrian programme run throughout the year.

What to wear
