About this yard
Beverley Polo Club opened to members in 2002 and sits on 110 acres of East Yorkshire countryside near Tickton. Three outdoor grounds and a floodlit 80 x 40 yard indoor arena (Ecotrack surface, seated viewing) support a calendar that runs through the colder months as well as summer. Stabling for up to 60 horses, an outdoor exercise track and four club houses round out the infrastructure. The club hosts the Yorkshire Nations Cup, an international tournament that has drawn teams from as far as India and Argentina.

A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
