About this yard
Becky Jackson Horse Riding is based at Anchor Stables in Kentford, just outside Newmarket. Becky returned to teaching in 2014 after some years in other industries, set up her own school in Chippenham, then moved to the current site in 2017. It is a small, friendly team offering lessons, hacks, fun days, activity sessions and horse care/stable management courses for riders of all ages and abilities, with fully qualified instructors and well-schooled horses.
Group lessons are capped at 6 riders for adequate instructor time, and riders are assessed before joining a group. Lessons take place in the centre's own outdoor school, open to the elements, riders are advised to come dressed for the weather. Private lessons are recommended for those returning to riding after a break.

What to wear
Standard guidance for equestrian yards in the UK. Check with your yard if you're unsure.
A hat to a current recognised safety standard. Requirements can vary, so check with the yard before you ride.
Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
