About this yard

Back Lane Stables at New Farnley, Leeds is a long-running BHS Approved Riding and Training Centre with a friendly, structured programme, from first lessons to BHS Ride Safe and Stage 1 prep. Good fit for adults and juniors who like clear progression and an active riding-club vibe. BHS-approved tuition with exam pathways. Mix of private and semi-private formats to build confidence. Riding school horses and ponies with structured lessons.

Pricing

Pony Club class £25 for 90 minutes (45 min stable management + 45 min riding). Fallabella Club for younger members (must be assessed up by instructor). Side saddle lessons available (requires walk/trot/canter competence). Family run with 7 qualified instructors. Closed Mondays. Late opening Tues/Wed/Thurs.

Clothing

Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.

Hair & jewellery

Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.

Clients arriving in unsuitable clothing or footwear may not be permitted to ride, for their own safety. If in doubt, contact the yard before your visit.
