Allendale Equestrian Centre is a BHS-approved riding school near Godshill on the Isle of Wight, offering horse riding lessons, livery, and hacking. Situated on a bridle path enabling off-road riding for miles along bridleways and country lanes. Booking requires giving your height, weight and ability so you can be matched to a suitable horse. Open 9am-5pm, Tuesday to Sunday, year round.

Sturdy boots with a small heel. Trainers and flat, smooth-soled shoes are not suitable for safety reasons. Check with the yard for their exact requirements.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs should be covered, and waterproofs are worth having for outdoor lessons. Check with the yard if you are unsure.
Long hair should be tied back before putting on your hat, and jewellery removed before riding.
