Stag Lodge Stables borders Richmond Park directly — 2,500 acres of royal parkland with around 650 red and fallow deer that have roamed here since Charles I enclosed the land in 1637. Hacks run along the park boundary on permitted bridleways, with the deer a reliable presence on morning rides. Stag Lodge runs 70-plus horses across seven arenas and takes riders of all abilities from age three. One of the most distinctive natural settings reachable on public transport from central London.
